Our Team


Dr. Jerry grew up on a grain and livestock farm south of Vincennes, where his family are fifth generation farmers. He has five siblings: his three sisters are teachers, his brothers farm the family farm.

He graduated from South Knox High School in 1984. He received his Bachelors of Science in Agriculture in 1988 and his DVM in 1991 from Purdue University.

He married Dr. Karen in 1991 and they purchased Spring Mill Veterinary Service in September of 1993.

He became a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Beef Cattle Practice in 2000. He is actively involved in the Lawrence, Orange and Washington County 4H and Cattlemen’s programs as well as the local Humane Societies.

Jerry is also a member of the Bedford Masonic Lodge and President / General Manager of the Springville Feeder Auction Association Board of Directors.

He enjoys reading, traveling, and gardening. He loves to run 5Ks and half marathons. He is an avid Boilermakers, Colts, Celtics, Bruins and Red Sox fan.

Dr. Karen

Dr. Karen grew up in a suburb of Boston, Massachusetts. She has three brothers and graduated from Concord-Carlisle High School in 1983. She received her Bachelors of Arts in Biology in 1987 from Bucknell University and her DVM in 1991 from Purdue University.

She married Dr. Jerry in 1991 and they purchased Spring Mill Veterinary Service in September of 1993.

She currently serves on the Lawrence County Health Board and is actively involved with the local Humane Societies.

Dr. Karen has competed in canine obedience and agility trials. She enjoys reading, traveling, and baking. She ran 5ks, half marathons and full marathons completing the Cincinnati, New York, Chicago, Indianapolis and Boston Marathons.

Dr. Ellen Jarvis  is working with both small and large animals at Spring Mill Veterinary Service. She is a graduate of Brownstown Central High School and did her undergraduate work at Murray State University in Kentucky. Dr. Jarvis recently graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. She grew up on a small farm and competed in rodeos  across the country with her younger brother from first grade until entering veterinary school. Dr. Jarvis will be getting married in August to Chad Burcham, a full-time, self-employed cattleman of Vallonia, Indiana. They recently purchased a cattle farm in Salem where they cow/calf to finish and sell private freezer beef. Her pets are Bandita, and Australian Shepherd cross, and Rita, a Shetland Collie and Australian Shepherd cross. Dr. Jarvis enjoys spending time outside and riding the farm checking calves.

Amber has been with Spring Mill Veterinary Service since February of 2014.

Amber has one Yorkie named Dixie and 2 Schnauzer rescues named Faith and Stevie.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, shooting guns, riding four wheelers, listening to music and spending time with her family.

Julie has been with Spring Mill Veterinary Service since March of 2014.

In her free time she breeds Shiba Inus and is involved in conformation showing and hopes to do rally and lure coursing.

Hannah has been with Spring Mill Veterinary Service since November of 2019.

In her free time she enjoys cooking/baking, reading, gardening, and listening to music. She has a wonderful and handsome hound dog named Moose.

Tiffany has been with us intermittently since 2000,  and we are very excited about having her back with us as of November 2019.

In her free time she enjoys spending time with her son and husband. She also has a cool cattle dog named Rooster that helps her on the farm taking care of their horses.
