Cat Vaccination Recommendations

Kittens are given their first shot, FVRCPC (Feline Rhinotrachetis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia, and Chlamydia) in a series at 6 to 8 weeks of age and then every 4 weeks until they are 3 months of age.

At 3 months of age they are given their last FVRCPC and Rabies vaccination. A kitten needs its complete series of vaccinations to be fully protected, one shot will not provide immunity and prevent disease!

Adult cats need their FVRCPC and Rabies vaccinations annually.

Leukemia vaccination is recommended for all cats / kittens that go outside or those that live in a multiple-cat household with any outdoor cat exposure. Initially two vaccinations given 3 to 4 weeks apart are necessary, followed by yearly re-vaccination.

We do not recommend using store bought vaccines as these can be handled improperly before you purchase them and be ineffective!

We also recommend spaying or neutering at 6 months of age.
