Puppies can be given their first shot, DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza), in a series of vaccinations at 6 to 8 weeks of age and then every 4 weeks until they are 4 months of age.
At 4 months they are given their last DHPP and Rabies vaccinations. A puppy needs its complete series of vaccinations to be fully protected, one shot will not provide immunity and prevent disease!
If a dog is going to be groomed or boarded we recommend a Kennel cough (Bordetella) vaccine.
Adult dogs need an annual Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccination. We also offer Lyme vaccine and Canine Flu Bivalent to dogs that are at risk. Please feel free to ask us if your pet should receive these vaccines.
We do not recommend store bought vaccines as these can be improperly handled before you purchase them and can be ineffective.
We also recommend spaying or neutering at 6 months of age.
